Where to Find Feminine Styled Stock Photos for Free or Cheap

If you've been following along with my blog for the past few months you may have noticed more of my images with a pretty desktop background (like below):

These beautiful desk-scapes are part of what's referred to as styled stock photos. They're generally an arrangement of themed objects in a photo that you can then add your own branding and wording on.

The images you use on your blog and for social media can have a huge impact on your social shares and the overall perception of your brand.

Images can increase customer engagement in general by about 40%, and customers who identify with your brand are twice as likely to buy.

With all the work you put into your company, your brand deserves to stand out with high quality, consistently branded images.

Thankfully you don't need to spend a fortune. The sites below are some of the best I've found for high quality, low cost styled stock photos.

14 Places to Find Great Styled Stock Photo

The first 6 sites are geared more toward female entrepreneurs and bloggers. The images are feminine and involve a lot of desk layouts.

For less feminine options, try searching on Creative Market, Etsy, Death to the Stock Photo and Unsplash.

A lot of the sites will offer free stock photos each month or a free welcome bundle for signing up for their newsletter. I've denoted the ones I know offer free images with *.

Some sites like Haute Stock and Death to the Stock Photo are membership sites where you pay a low monthly fee to access all past and new photos. I've been a member of both sites and highly recommend them.

1 | haute Stock* - $99 every 3 months or $299/year

For $99 every 3 months (or $299 per year), you get access to thousands of beautiful styled stock photos with new photos added weekly. I get most of my photos from this site. Not only do you get stock photos and mock-ups, but you also get graphics packs (think backgrounds & icons) as well as pre-made social media quote images.

2 | PinkPot / Creative Convex - Free stock photos + More

Chaitra not only offers free styled stock photo packs, but she also gives tips on styling your own photos and offers a service to custom make styled photos for your brand.

3 | Dear Miss Modern - $10 per photo average

This site offers themed photo packs and individual styled stock for sale.

4 | Kate Maxwell Photography - $15 per image

Kate's shop has a slightly wider range of themes, from computer related to children's toys.

5 | Diva Gone Domestic - $15 per image

If you follow along on her blog it looks like she offers free downloads sometimes.

6 | Shay Cochran - $30-$60 per image

Shay's photos are a little more expensive, but she does offer free stock images for signing up for her mailing list.

7 | Creative Market* - $15 per image average

First, if you don't know about Creative Market, go there and play around. If any part of your business is DIY for design, you will fall in love with it. If you sign up for their mailing list, you get 6 free downloads each Monday from different categories. They usually offer free downloads for fonts, a small vector image pack, Wordpress themes, and more.

Here are few specific shops I've found for styled stock photography on Creative Market:

8 | Stockographer

11 | Etsy - $6-15 per image average

The link above is directed to a search for "Styled Stock Photography," but that's just one example. You could search "styled desk" or anything related to your topic.

12 | Death to the Stock Photo - $15 per month

I used to get most of my photos from this site, but recently switched to Haute Chocolate. I still love DTTSP, but Haute Chocolate offers more of the type of images I use for business. However, they do have some styled stock photos and great options for blog images.

My Sunday Link Love image is one I created from a styled stock DTTSP image:

13 | Unsplash - Free

Again, this site doesn't offer strictly styled stock photos, but there are a few options if you search things like "desk" or "laptop." All of the images on this site are free, so it's a great resources in general. Check out my saved collection of Office + Work Photos here.

14 | Canva* - Free or $1

Canva has a library with over a million images, all for either $1 or completely free. Each of the desktop images below are only $1 each. I'm a complete Canva convert, by the way. They make my life so much easier.

I’m an SEO specialist + digital marketing strategist with over 12 years experience in the industry. I’m here to tell you it IS possible to tackle your marketing with authenticity, grace and ease, and still get results.

I work with passionate business owners and marketing directors who are 𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 and spreading their efforts too thin. They want to know what's working, what's not working, and where they should really be spending their time and money.

But I'll be honest- I'm not here for the people chasing vanity metrics. My philosophy is grounded in 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 and what I've dubbed #SEOwithSoul. I don't believe in hacks and "beating algorithms" as a long term strategy.
